This one’s personal. From two creators (Groovin in G and Human Synthetics) who share a passion for all things breakbeat, Mutant Breaks is a carefully curated collection of 92 custom drum breaks designed to expand your sonic arsenal. While Mutant Breaks pays homage to its origins, you won’t find these loops anywhere else.
We wanted to go back to the drawing board to make this pack. To start again from first principles. What makes a good drum break? How can we create a suite of loops that are new and inspiring, modern and functional, yet work across the spectrum of breakbeat genres?
No store bought one-shots were used in the making of these breaks. Every loop has been built from scratch: chopped, resequenced, layered and processed in as many ways as our inspiration took us. The aim? A hybrid of everything we love about our favourite breaks. This pack is the next step in a shared journey toward the ever retreating horizon of breakbeat mastery.
